Bulletin 1 (30-12-2011)
Sporting Car Club of Norfolk are proud to present the 2012 March Hare 12 Car, the annual challenge between Sporting Car Club of Norfolk and King’s Lynn and District Motor Club.
Each club provides six crews with victory going to the club scoring the most points; points are awarded according to the crews’ o/a finishing position (12 for 1st o/a down to 1 for 12th o/a).
There are one or two changes this year, the main one being with the navigation and class structure.
In an attempt to provide an entertaining night for everyone the navigation will be kept fairly straight forward and set at two levels (Expert and Novice).
Each team will receive 3 sets of Expert and 3 sets of Novice navigation; with the navigation such that crews of any ability should be able to cope with either set (i.e. there is no restriction on who is entered in what class – a team could be made up of 6 crews competing in their club’s Expert class etc. – this is mainly an attempt to ensure that both clubs are able to put forward a team of 6).
It will be up to the team co-ordinator for each team to decide which of their crews enter which class.
The event will be a game of three halves;
just for a bit of fun the game will kick off with a regularity section run on private land (no need to worry about speed tables or a trip but an accurate digital watch / clock would be a benefit);
the first half will cover 55 miles;
there will then be an opportunity to recover time (even if you have a horrible first half everyone should be able to start the second half on their scheduled time) and take on fuel;
the second half will cover 45 miles.
Another change the Organising Team would like to try is changing the penalty for a missed code board from 1 fail to 5 minutes.
The usual refreshments will be available at the finish.
